What are international payment methods?
There are 5 types of payment methods available in international trade. These payment types are cash-in-advance, open account, documentary collections, documentary credits (letters of credit) and bank payment obligation.
What is an international transaction fee?
An international transaction fee is charged to you, the consumer, by your credit card company whenever you buy something in a foreign currency. And while most of these charges are applied to travelers, they can also be added to your credit card bill when you make a purchase online from a foreign vendor.
Does international transactions require OTP?
One can do an international transaction without OTP or PIN. All you need are your card details such as Card number, Date of Expiry and CVV. If you are using a Payment Gateway outside India they are not bound by the RBI mandate hence they may not require OTP authentication.
Can you use a debit card internationally?
With an international debit card, customers can go to a bank, credit union, or ATM and withdraw cash when needed, or make purchases at POS. International debit cards are supported by Visa or MasterCard, giving them recognition in foreign countries around the world.
